Get the most out of Rovo Chat

When you work with Rovo Chat, you will use prompts written using natural language. They can range from simple questions to highly detailed instructions.
To enhance your Rovo Chat prompt, you can also:
  • @mention a person or a team
  • Paste a Smart Link to any Atlassian or any supported third-party content to which you have access
  • Specify a time period, such as “last week” or “today”
  • Reference a Confluence space or Jira project by name
Rovo Chat can help you with a variety of tasks, including finding, summarizing, and reviewing existing content, as well as generating new content based on your inputs.
👇 Click the boxes below to explore examples of how you can use Rovo Chat.

Optimize your Rovo Chat experience

While simple questions can meet many of your needs, a more detailed prompt can unlock the power of Rovo Chat, particularly when generating new content. A well-crafted generative AI prompt might:
  • Clearly state the task you want the AI to perform
  • Specify a context or persona, and any helpful background information or guidelines to follow.
  • Mention references such as links.
  • Provide additional details like the format or tone.
You don't always get amazing results with just one prompt, so keep iterating and use follow-up prompts until you get the result you’re looking for. Because Chat is conversational, you can always follow up by asking for an answer:
  • In a different format, such as bullet points, a table, an email, or HTML
  • Shorter or longer, such as within a specific word count or a top three list
  • In a different tone, such as formal, instructional, or at a particular reading level
  • With more context or detail, such as writing as a specific persona, or following a more specific set of instructions or parameters
👇 Use follow-up prompts to refine your results.

Search your chat history

Rovo Chat app keeps a history of your interactions, allowing you to revisit previous conversations. Chat stores your messages and the answers you receive for 30 days so that you can retrieve and display your conversation history. This is particularly useful for tracking down past information or instructions. You can search your chat history by keywords or phrases to quickly find the information you need.
Selecting a prior chat also allows you to switch the current Chat back to that conversation, continuing from where you left off. From More actions (represented by ···) on each of your chats, you can:
  • Rename your chat for easier reference
  • Delete a chat you no longer need
👉 For example: Esperanza, an HR manager, needs to find the steps for setting up a new employee’s onboarding plan. She quickly searches her chat history with Rovo Chat from two weeks ago to retrieve the information without needing to ask the same question again.
👇 Search by keyword to locate previous Rovo Chat conversations.
